Perform X HD Bass Leader

Umpqua’s Perform X HD Bass Leader will deliver big wind resistant flies accurately into tight cover. The leaders have the strength to muscle them out of heavy cover.  The leader has a perfect combination of mass, abrasion resistance, and strength. The 8′ length is a good all-around length. Use with Umpqua Tough Nylon tippet. The 10 lb. has a tippet diameter of .011″, 12 lb. – .012″, 16 lb – .015″.

A general rule of thumb is that shorter leaders will cast easier. If the bass are not easily spooked, it’s easiest to use a short leader about 5 – 8ft. in length. The leader should cast relatively easy, and it shouldn’t have a problem turning the fly over.

The Perform X HD Bass Leader will throw big bugs into the junk and to have the power to get the fish out of it. These leaders are the perfect combination of taper, strength and abrasion resistance to perform extremely well. Much more powerful than a standard trout leader, this leader will make the difference in casting and presenting large bass flies.
